The Dodgers are headed back to the playoffs for the 10th straight season after their 6-0 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Los Angeles actually thought they clinched their spot in the postseason Sunday after defeating the Padres celebrating with a postgame toast and receiving postseason caps.
The MLB said ‘Not so fast’. The MLB stated that they didn’t take into account that the Dodgers could end up in a three way tie with the Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals if they all ended up with a 96-66 record. That would’ve also took the Padres to win out and winning the NL West.
But this is no longer an issue after Monday night’s win. The Dodgers now 54 games over .500 are looking to stay healthy and continue their dominate play as they prepare for another World Series run.
The 10 straight appearances in the postseason is the third longest streak in MLB history. Only the Braves (14) and Yankees (13) have had better streaks.
The Dodgers also clinched the NL West with their win Tuesday night against Arizona.
Led by superstar Mookie Betts, the Dodgers are the clear favorites coming down the stretch. Lets see if they can keep things rolling as October approaches.

Dustin May made his return to the mound for the first time since May 21, 2021 picking up the 7-0 victory over the Miami Marlins.
May got himself in a jam early allowing the bases to become loaded in the top of the 1st inning. He was able to stay focus and escape without giving up a run after striking out Marlins catcher Nick Fortes to end the inning.
May pitched 5 scoreless innings, striking out 9 while giving up only a single hit.
With more performances like this, May will add another solid starter to the Dodgers bullpen. He was excited to return after more than a year away.
“It’s super exciting to know that I’m back and that I can go get guys out when I need to and that I can get out of a jam when I put myself into one,” May said. “That was a huge confidence boost... I’m just glad to get the first one out of the way and to know I came out of it healthy and strong, and now I can get ready for the next one.”
The pitcher was aided early when catch Will Smith hit a 3-run homer in the first and the Dodgers never looked back.
Four more runs in the 3rd put the game away early and helped put the game in a stranglehold for the top seeded team in the NL.
The win gave the Dodgers their 8th straight win at home. As Big Blue looks to inch closer to 100 wins on the season and secure the top seed in the playoffs.
